Anna Christie is a Lake Macquarie-based artist working primarily in soft pastels and oils. She has completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at The National Art School in Sydney with continued focus on developing her painting and drawing abilities.

Her current works act as personal reflections of the societal status quo regarding technology, spirituality and consumerism using sci fi, dystopian and supernatural themes with an ode to her Newcastle and Lake Macquarie surrounds.

She sees the artist as having the important role of visual translator. It is less about the identity of the artist themselves and more about the channeled information that is revealed on the page. Often vivid imagery will come into her imagination and the artwork is an urgent attempt to portray the images in the real world, as seen in the mind's eye. There's a sense of the impersonal, as if something other-worldly is using the artist's hands to communicate through pictures - like a download of information.
With a background in spirituality, Anna uses art as a way to commune with her higher self, allowing for connection, presence and realisation of truth.
